Für manche ist "Körper" gleichbedeutend mit "Identität" und für andere ist der Körper ein Fortbewegungsmittel. Für manche ist der Körper das, was wir gemeinsam haben, und für andere ist es im Speziellen er, der uns unterscheidet. Die Beziehung zwischen einer Frau und ihrem Körper ist weiterhin selten diskutiert während die Darstellung des weiblichen Körpers uns überall umgibt.
Das Thema wird mehr und mehr tabuisiert, je weiter wir an der weiblichen Anatomie hinunter wandern. Dort wo Jahrhunderte des Schweigens ihn in ein Minenfeld verwandelt haben.
URBAN BODY fiktionalisiert die Geschichten von fünf Roma-Frauen und untersucht ihre Beziehung zu ihrem Körper aus einer persönlichen Sicht und im sozialen Kontext: Der Körper als Produktions-Instrument, der Körper als Eigentum, der Körper als Wiege der Mutterschaft, der gesunde Körper, der kranke Körper, der beschämende Körper, der physische Körper als Spiegel des sozialen Lebens und als einziger persönlicher Besitz.
Wir stoßen an den Rand der Gesellschaft vor, wo wir die grey areas der gesellschaftlichen Moral erkunden, und wir öffnen die Debatte über die controversen Themen sexueller und reproduktiver Rechte in einer musikalischen, sanften, mutigen, provokativen Show über Sex, Überleben und Identität im Rumänien des 21. Jahrhunderts.

For some, ”body” equals ”identity”, and for others the body is a vehicle. For some, the body is what makes us the same, for others it is precisely what makes us different. The relation between a woman and her body is still rarely discussed, yet, female body representations are everywhere around us.
The subject gets more and more taboo as we travel lower down the female anatomical body, where centuries of practice of silence have transformed it into a cultural minefield.
URBAN BODY fictionalizes the stories of five Roma women and investigates the connection between them and their own bodies, through a personal lens and in a social context: the body as an instrument of production, the body as property, the body as a cradle of maternity; the healthy body, the sick body, the shameful body, the physical body as the mirror of one’s social life and as the only personal possession. We venture into the fringes of society, exploring the gray areas of societal morality, and we open for debate the controversial subject of sexual and reproductive rights, in a musical, gentle, courageous, provocative show about sex, survival and identity in 21st century Romania.

Pentru unii corp = identitate, pentru alţii corp = vehicul. Pentru unii corpul este cel ce ne face la fel, pentru alţii tocmai ceea ce ne diferenţiază.
Despre relaţia dintre o femeie şi corpul ei se vorbeşte ȋncă puţin. E un subiect cu atât mai tabu cu cât coborâm anatomic mai jos şi sute de ani de practică a tăcerii consimţite l-au transformat ȋntr-un fel de teren minat. CORP URBAN ficţionalizează poveştile a cinci femei de etnie romă şi investighează relaţia dintre ele şi propriul corp atât ȋntr-un context personal, cât şi ȋntr-unul social: corpul ca un mijloc de producţie, corpul ca o proprietate, corpul ca un leagăn al maternităţii; corpul sănătos, corpul bolnav, corpul ruşinos, - corpul fizic ca oglindă a vieţii sociale şi ca unică posesie personală. Facem o incursiune ȋn universul marginalilor, explorând zonele gri ale moralei şi ale societăţii şi deschizând spre dezbatere subiectul tabu al drepturilor sexuale şi reproductive, ȋntr-un spectacol muzical, tandru, asumat şi curajos, despre sex, supravieţuire şi identiate ȋn România secolulului 21.
