“Once upon a time, there was a boy who wanted to sing in the streets. In fact, he didn’t want to do anything else but sing.” 

As freedom of speech continues to be a controversial topic in many parts of the world, performing solo on stage today is a loud cry for survival, for freedom, for solidarity, and it shows a great desire to be heard. 
In her poetic solo theatre piece, İpek Seyalıoğlu overthrows the dictated word after years of activism and brings out a voice forced into silence.

“Always Praise Life. This is the way to sing.”

ÜBER DIE ZEITGENÖSSISCHE KUNST DES ÜBERLEBENS

"Es war einmal ein Junge, der wollte auf der Straße singen. Eigentlich wollte er gar nichts anderes tun als singen." 

Da die Redefreiheit in vielen Teilen der Welt nach wie vor verhindert wird, ist ein Soloauftritt auf der Bühne heute ein lauter Schrei nach Überleben, nach Freiheit, nach Solidarität, und er präsentiert öffentlich den großen Wunsch, gehört zu werden. 

In ihrem poetischen Solo-Theaterstück stürzt İpek Seyalıoğlu nach Jahren des Aktivismus das diktierte Wort und bringt eine Stimme hervor, die einst ins Schweigen gezwungen wurde.

"Immer das Leben loben. Das ist der Weg zu singen."
