Klangteppich präsentiert seit 2018 Musikschaffende aus Iran und der iranischen Diaspora in neuen Begegnungen mit Künstler_innen anderer Spielweisen und Szenen in Berlin. Das Festival initiiert grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeiten, hinterfragt eurozentrische Wahrnehmungen von Musik und erzeugt Aufmerksamkeit für künstlerische Ausdrucksformen jenseits von Zuschreibungen. Von Mitte April bis Ende Juni 2022 ist der Komponist Arshia Samsaminia Artist in Residence von Klangteppich. Fünf Projekte werden beim Festival am 2. und 3. Juni im Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg uraufgeführt: ein neues Werk von Samsaminia für Geige, Bratsche, Cello, Kontrabass und Elektronik, zwei Projekte, die sich künstlerisch mit persönlichen, deutschiranischen Familiengeschichten auseinandersetzen; ein Ensemble, das zum historischen Technologietransfer zwischen Deutschland und Iran ein Konzert erarbeitet und eine Long-Durational Performance, in welcher die Performer_innen und das Publikum eine Nacht zwischen Wachzustand, Halbschlaf, Schlaf und Aufwachen miteinander verbringen.

Klangteppich. Festival for music of the Iranian diaspora IV
Since 2018, Klangteppich has been presenting music makers from Iran and the Iranian diaspora in new encounters with artists from other styles and scenes in Berlin. The festival initiates cross-border collaborations, questions Eurocentric perceptions of music and generates attention for artistic forms of expression beyond biases. From mid-April to the end of June 2022, composer Arshia Samsaminia is Klangteppich's artist in residence. Five projects will be premiered at the festival on June 2 and 3 at Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg: a new work by Samsaminia for violin, viola, cello, double bass, and electronics; two projects that deal artistically with personal, German-Iranian family stories; an ensemble that is developing a concert on the historical transfer of technology between Germany and Iran; and a Long-Durational Performance in which the performers and the audience spend a night together between waking, half-sleeping, sleeping, and waking up.
