Der Komponist Arshia Samsaminia, geboren 1989 in Teheran, ist Artist in Residence von Klangteppich IV und von Mitte April bis Ende Juni 2022 in Berlin.
Er komponiert eine Uraufführung für das Festival am 2./3. Juni und hält am 24. Juni eine Lecture Performance in der Pickle Bar, dem Projektraum des bekannten Künstler_innenkollektivs Slavs and Tatars.
Samsaminia befasst sich in seiner Dissertation an der Universität Thessaloniki mit Fragen der Übertragung der spezifischen Stimmungen und Intervalle persischer Musik in Notationssysteme europäischer Musik und in Software, die bei Kompositionen mit Elektronik Anwendung findet.
Für Johannes Fink und Nikolaus Schlierf komponiert Samsaminia ein elektroakustisches Werk, in dem sie allmählich die Instrumente von Kontrabass zu Cello, von Geige zu Bratsche wechseln.
Johannes Fink ist ein gefragter Musiker in Ensembles der improvisierten Musik, etwa mit der Pianistin Aki Takase oder dem Saxofonisten Daniel Erdmann.
